陈香梅1925年6月23日生于北京，早年毕业于香港岭南大学。曾为美国国际合作委员会主席，是国际著名的华人社会活动家。陈香梅与美国前“飞虎队”队长陈纳德将军的婚姻成了历史上的一段佳话。在陈纳德将军去世后，陈香梅以过人的胆识和毅力进入美国的政界、金融界、教育界，终于大获成功，取得令人瞩目的成就，三十多年来，从肯尼迪到奥巴马，先后十位总统都对她委以重任。1987年组织发起制定《华人参政宣言》。1989年获美国“杰出华裔奖”。1990年组织美国知名华人创立了“百人委员会”是对美国政府和主流社会最有影响的华人组织。

陈香梅享有“中美民间大使”之美誉。1980年底陈香梅受美国总统里根的委托，应邓小平的邀请，以里根亲善大使的身份访问中国并受到邓小平的接见。邓小平说:“美国有一百个参议员，但只有一个陈香梅”。她多次到中国大陆和台湾访问，在两岸之间积极沟通，为促进两岸交流做出重要贡献。她说:“只要中国人能扬眉吐气，我余愿已足。”

陈香梅在繁忙的政务和社会活动间隙，笔耕不辍，著述颇丰，发表了《我与华府》、《往事知多少》、《一千个春天》、《春秋岁月》、《陈香梅自传》等中英文著作五十余部。

陈香梅十分关心中国教育，她认为:“有好校长就有好老师，有好老师就有好学生，有好学生就有好公民，有好公民就有好社会，有好社会就有幸福美好生活”。由此形成了自己的一套完整的教育理念，并身体力行予以实践，先后出资数千万元奖励优秀校长和优秀教师，并协助中国的学校开展对外交流，她认为教育是立国强民之本，二十多年来，多方奔走，筹集资金，倾其所有，设立奖项，以帮助就学困难和学业有成的学子、优秀教师及优秀校长。

陈香梅情牵中国教育事业，心系西部贫困学子，热心祖国公益，对老少边地区，对弱势群体给予了特别的关注。1999年启动“香梅千校工程”，支持西部贫困地区发展教育，培训这些地区的校长、教师。为了逐步实现“香梅千校工程”计划，2001年陈香梅又支持成立了“北京陈香梅教育科技中心”。2008年设立了“美国国际合作委员会北京代表处”。2010年发起成立了“陈香梅公益基金会”。

陈香梅--一个让人敬仰的名字，陈香梅精神必将世代相传。

Anna Chennault,with her passion for the educationin China,especially cares for thepoverty-stricken students and disadvantaged groupsin western China and other leastdeveloped regions .In 1999.she launched the Anna Chennault program for 1,000 Schools,which hastrained many school headmasters and teachers from the western China .Tosup-port this Program,Anna established the Anna ChennaultEducation and Technology Center in 2001.In 2008,she srt up the Council for the International Cooperation,Bejing.
